Out for a Skate

Today we went and bought skates for the whole family and went skating. The ponds are not yet frozen enough thanks to a few warm days (2 degrees), so we went to the ice rink that is across the road from out house and tried out the new blades. Even Me! Abbby was not keen on it - she just kept saying..."this isnt fun...this isnt fun". Jenna got the hang of it. we thought she had better get some practice in before she starts lessons in a couple of weeks time.
Anyway, here is the video....

Update and a few home movies

I just thought I would add a few home movies for you to take a look at.

These were just taken using my still camera, not a proper video camera, but you get the idea from them. I really need to get a digital video camera..mine is driving me nuts.

We have had a great week, Jenna enjoyed school, she had her first school excursion to the button shop where they make buttons (badges).. They made one for their parents for Christmas.

We haven't had a lot of snow this week but what we had last week is still around...and is now mounds of ice not snow - they are really hard when you hit them with your car...haha...oops.

The girls are getting excited about Christmas, this time next week I will no longer be able to bribe them with 'Santa wont bring you any presents' damn it!

I went out to dinner the other night to a ladies house who is a member of the online mums forum for mums from Newfoundland. I was very brave going but I though if I don't get out and make some friends I will have a very lonely couple of years....I am a bit of a Nigel No Friends at the moment! It was really nice to meet them all and find out some info about things to do here with kids.

Today we went to the playground, it feels very weird playing on a playground covered in snow. But the kids had fun and we left when they could no longer feel their bottoms because they were frozen!

In this one they kids had to follow the teacher using the scalfs, then they each had a bell of a different colour and they had to only ring their bell when their colour came up in the song and then kindy and grade 1 sang a song together.

I thought I would put this one on so you could see the snow clearing...it is quite the operation. I only caught the last bit of it - most of the snow had already been cleared and they were just coming back to get what the first round left behind. Quite the operation.

Have a great week before Christmas!

Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow!

Today we have had our first big snowstorm, it started at about 9 thismorning and hasn't stopped yet - and it is 4pm now. We had no snow on the ground before it started and now it is mid calf deep - very cool. We went for a play in the snow when it had just started - the girls had a great time.

During the week we bought a new car - it is a dodge Caravan - a minivan. Heaps of room!
The house we are living in is the house on the left, and that is our new car out the front.
We have had a good week, Jenna had her Christmas concert which was great, everyone came, Nan,and Ann-Marie took some time off work and Linda came as well.
Jenna has been a little bit sick the last day or 2, I think going from nice warm houses out to freezing cold takes its toll after a while, hopefully she will be all better soon.
Thats it for this week
take care
